I'm one of Jehovah's Witnesses, and I have maintained friendships with people who aren't Jehovah's Witnesses both in real and online. Though the friends were generally nice, it did cause me lots of problems. I ended a friendship with a girl that I've known for 4 years, and that wasn't one of the easiest things I have ever done. she was upset by it naturally, but I was upset too and she just got my anger vented on her. I apologized to her for doing that, and I wouldn't mind being an associate of hers, but not a friend. It was only then that she told me she thought she was my best friend. This came as a blow to me, because I just thought of it as a friendship. She refuses to talk to me, but I have gotten over it strangely enough. It still hurts, but I have to learnt to accept it. Friends who weren't Jehovah's Witnesses caused me to question my religion, it caused me to want to leave. All of which was detrimental to me. Thankfully, with the assistance of the brothers and sisters I overcame that. You can have associates who are [not]Witnesses, but not a best friend. Eventually, we may have to end friendships with those who aren't JWs. and that will be very hard to do.

∙ 13y agoYes, they do. Many Jehovah's witnesses have close friends and associates that are not of their faith. However they likely usually find friends from those that share their value system. Jehovah's Witnesses are cautioned about the dangers of associating too closely with those that are immoral, sexually provocative or violent.
The Watchtower 2nd February 1994 comments:
''We must also be on guard against extended association with worldly people. Perhaps it is a neighbor, a school friend, a workmate, or a business associate.''

'' We have been counseled to be cautious in our dealings with men of the nations, unbelievers, and ordinary persons. (See the November 15, 1988, issue of The Watchtower, pages 15-16.) Why should we have unnecessary social contact with people who still pursue worldly ways and who have not become worshipers of Jehovah?''

With these things in mind spiritually mature Jehovah's Witnesses try to avoid associating in any meaningful way with non Jehovah's Witnesses.

∙ 8y agoWitnesses do not separate themselves completely from the outside environment. They live alongside non-members, send their children to state schools, hold jobs in secular environments and can even live with non-members. However, Witnesses are required not to have unnecessary association with non-members.

Are Jehovahs allowed to find fellowship outside of Kingdom Hall?
Yes, they fellowship outside the Kingdom Hall often in social gatherings. However, they do prefer to associate mainly with other witnesses unless it is a situation where teaching a non-witness is involved. There is no hard rule set on how often, or in what circumstances you can associate with non-witnesses. But it is highly discouraged to have purely social interactions with non-witnesses because of the possible detrimental affects that association with people that do not share their beliefs could have on their morality standards and faith.
Do Jehovah's Witnesses befriends with non-Jehovah's Witnesses?
Yes, to a certain level either because of work or school etc. They do try to level there association to avoid being influenced by the outside "world" which they think is bad for their spirituality. They do make friends but are carefull to befriend people with good traits. Yes they are allowed to be friends with people who are non-Jehovah's Witnesses. They are careful with getting involved in negative activities with the outside world. My mom's side of the family are Jehovah's Witnesses and not in a negative way but my aunt keeps seeing demons.

Firstly, check if he is really one of Jehovah's Witnesses. Jehovah's Witnesses usually only date within their religion and are put outside of the congregation if they have sex outside of marriage. If you are in a sexual relationships with an individual outside of the bonds of marriage, then the individual is no doubt NOT one of Jehovha's Witnesses. For Jehovah's Witnesses their partners or family are not to be put above the supreme maker of the universe so if it is a question between respecting bible principle (for example having sex outside of marriage) and pleasing a human, they will chose God. That having been said, there should be no conflict in family relationships if both individuals respect the others right and freedom to worship as they chose and show love and respect for those that don't agree with their choices.

Being Muslim or a member of any religion is an act of the brain. Such acts leave no physical trace on the outside of the body, thus determining a woman's religion is not obvious from bodily signs. You have to accept what her family or friends say, or some documentary evidence.

I'm thirteen too. And sometimes I hang out outside of school, go to the mall, movies and sleepovers. But like you're not obliged too, you can still be really good friends but not hang out outside of school. The main purpose of hanging out is to have fun and get to know your friends better. Definitely, hanging out outside of school is good, but you don't have too.
