Jewish people do not smell anymore than Christian, Muslims, Buddhists, agnostics, atheists, or any other type of people belonging to a religious group.
Unfortunately, this is an offensive racial stereotype. If someone told you this, it is in fact incorrect and you should not repeat it, ever. If you know a Jewish person who smells, it is not because they are Jewish, it is because they do not shower. Many people belonging to several belief systems (or lack thereof) smell because they have bad hygiene or they do not have access to clean water.
Let me just emphasize that you should NOT repeat this, it is racially offensive.
