The word of wisdom, found in D+C 89, has similar statements about herbs.

∙ 14y agoNo. Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (commonly called the "Mormon" Church) follow a heath code called the "Word of Wisdom" which they believe was given to the Church from God. As they believe their bodies are sacred gifts from God, they follow this health code to protect their bodies.
The "Word of Wisdom" prohibits tobacco, smoking and illicit drugs of all kinds. It also prohibits the use of alcohol unless it is being used as a disinfectant or cleaner. "Hot drinks" such as coffee and tea are also prohibited.
Eating whole grains, vegetables, and fruit are highly encouraged by the Word of Wisdom, and meat is to be used sparingly.
