Yes indeed. According to The Bible, both Jesus, and the 'spirit being' that later became 'the devil', they were both born from Jehovah God (fathered by God). In the Bible, Jesus is called 'the firstborn of all creation'. So, (very likely for milliniums), they were brothers, as are all the angels.

In fact, everyone here on earth, is part of God's great family. Angels are spirit creatures; humans are physical creatures; but we are all 'brothers', since we are all fathered by God.

This is one view. Perhaps there are also other views.

Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (the "Mormon" church) believe that God the Father is the Creator and Father of all things. (See John 1:3; Acts 17:24; Malachi 2:10; Ephesians 4:6; Proverbs 16:4; Revelation 4:11) As such, we can logically come to the conclusion that He is the Father and creator of Jesus Christ, as well as the Father and Creator of Satan - making Jesus and Satan brothers.

Mormons believe that Satan became the devil and was cast out of heaven because he disobeyed God by trying to exalt himself and usurp God's authority and power. (see Isaiah 14:12-14; Luke 10:18)

The Bible Dictionary published by the Church has this to say about the devil or Satan:

"…The devil is the enemy of righteousness and of those who seek to do the will of God. Literally a spirit son of God, he was at one time 'an angel' in authority in the presence of God, however, he rebelled in the premortal life…[and was] cast out of heaven…"

It should not be an extraordinary thing to say that God created Satan, as the Bible itself states that God created "all things… even the wicked" (Proverbs 16:4). If God did not create Satan, He would not be the Almighty Creator of all things, as the Bible says He is.

In short, Mormons believe that both Satan and Jesus are sons (creations) of God.

Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (the "Mormon" church) believe that God is the creator of all, and therefore is the Father of all. (see Malachi 2:10; Ephesians 4:6) This means that Jesus, Satan, and all of mankind are spiritually brothers and sisters, beacuse they all have the same Father - God.

Mormons believe that Satan rebelled against our Father and by so doing became evil. He was subsequently thrown out of heaven and became the devil. (See Luke 10:18; Revelation 9:1)

What do Mormons believe about the devil?

Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (the 'Mormon' church) believe that the devil (also called Satan or Lucifer) is a very real being. He is the enemy of righteousness and strives to lead us away from God. Mormons believe that men have power over Satan. Satan cannot force a mortal man or woman to do anything, he can only deceive them and tempt them to turn from God. Mormons believe that Lucifer was once an angel in heaven, but disobeyed God and then was cast out of heaven and became the devil. When he was cast out, some of the host of heaven chose to go with him and have become his minions. Mormons also believe that although Satan does not have a physical body, he looks like a man. He doesn't have red skin, horns, and a tail, nor does he look like a monster or a serpent. Check out the "Related Links" to learn more about what Mormons believe about the devil.

Does Mormonism fall under Christianity?

This all depends on how you define what a "Christian" is. If you believe that a "Christian" is a follower of Jesus Christ, then yes. Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (the "Mormon" church) believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and the only way to salvation. Mormons believe that they must accept Jesus Christ as their personal Savior in order to be cleansed from their sins and be saved. Mormons believe that the Holy Bible (King James Version) is the sacred word of God and are expected to study it daily. Mormons believe that at baptism, they take upon themselves the name of Jesus Christ and promise to live their lives as an example and witness of Christ. If you believe that a "Christian" must fit into a narrower definition, probably no. Mormons do not believe in the traditional Christian doctrine of the Trinity - that the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are the same being. Mormons believe that the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are three separate beings perfectly united in their purpose. Mormons also believe that there is additional scripture than the Bible (the Book of Mormon, Doctrine & Covenants, and Pearl of Great Price) and have other beliefs and practices that are not found in mainstream Christianity (such as a modern living prophet, baptism in behalf of the deceased, eternal marriages and families, and pre-mortal life) Mormons do define themselves as Christians, and invite you to learn more about them and decide for yourself if they are Christian or not. Who do Mormons believe lucifer is?

Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (the "Mormon" church) believe that Lucifer (Satan, the Devil) is the father of all lies. He is the enemy to God and righteousness. He strives to lead people away from truth. Mormons believe that Lucifer was once a son of God and an angel in heaven, but was cast out for rebelling against God and seeking to usurp God's power and authority. He seeks to tempt people away from God. Mormons believe that as Satan has no physical mortal body, mortal man has power over Satan (meaning that nobody can use the exuse 'the devil made me do it.) They also believe that Satan looks like a man (not as a beast or someone with red skin and horns.) Check out the "Related Links" to learn more.

Is god and the devil brothers?

One View:According to the Bible, God and the Devil, are NOT brothers. Jehovah God is the Creator. Jehovah created many angels. These angels are God's offspring, or sons. One of those angels turned himself into a rebel son. The Devil is the cause of all the misery on earth. Therefore God arranged for another one of his sons (Christ Jesus) to undo the works of the Devil. Therefore Jesus and the Devil are brothers, if-you-will.Since mankind are also offspring of God, (we are physical sons; angels are spirit beings, non-physical); and since mankind are therefore brothers with the angels; we are also brothers of the Devil. We can choose to 'stand behind' Christ Jesus and the other angels; or we can 'stand behind' God's adversary, the Devil.the devil was a angel who would not kneel down to human's so god had michael throw him from haven for disobeying his orders

Where was the devil buried?

The Devil (Satan) is not dead. He is alive and raising all the problems he can to try and defeat people who believe in Jesus Christ and God. He knows that he can't defeat Jesus because at the cross of Calvary Jesus defeated the devil, but the devil can create all manor of problems for those who believe. He doesn't bother with unbelievers because he has them captive and they will go to the Lake of Fire with him after Jesus Christ comes the Second time and judges the world. The devil knows his time is limited and then he will suffer in the Lake of Fire, but in the mean time he is doing everything possible to discourage and neutralize people who believe.

Do jehovahs witnesses believe that JESUS was once named Michael?

Yes, they do believe that. They believe that before Satan was cast out of heaven, Jesus was once named Michael and that he was the one who expelled the Devil from heaven. (Revelation 12:9-12)

What did Jews say about second coming of Jesus?

They simply did not believe in it. They were looking for a Messiah to save the nation from the Roman oppression (Luke 1.74,75); not a Saviour such as Jesus. They thought Jesus was simply a prophet, but some believed he was a devil, so if they did not believe in his first coming, how should they believe in his second coming?

Did the Jesus die for the devil?

No, Jesus didnt die for the Devil - he died for his people, us.

How is the devil related to Jesus?

Jesus is NOT God's Son and part of the Trinity. He is eternal. Satan [the devil] is a fallen angel. He was created by God.
