Basically, Muslims don't hate followers of any other faith including atheist. They are commanded by God in Quran and by the teachings of prophet Muhammad to treat others on the basis of being common in humanity and sharing the life on earth. The basic rule is no compulsion in religion and that it is Allah (God in English) will to have people and nations different to compete in doing good for humanity and for our planet and then they will be judged by Him in the Day of Resurrection.

You are referring to two different groups of people. Some Muslims hate Christians. They kill them all over the world and then celebrate it. Other Muslims would never dream of killing anyone. Those are the Muslims who say they do not hate Christians - because they don't.
