Islam is a very easy and simple religion. Allah Almighty says that he does not like to create difficulties for us nor does He want us to create difficulties for ourselves. A person who is sick may postpone his fast to a day when he is well and fit. Leaving a fast entirely and forgetting about is not allowed.
Muslims who are sick, elderly, pregnant, traveling, or on their period do not fast. This is because the body is weaker, and one should not fast if it harms the body.
Muslims can fast wherever they please.
Muslims are to fast/refrain from food from sunrise to sunset. Pregnant women, the sick , travelling people, old aged people, and intense hungry or thirsty people are not allowed to fast.
Muslims do not have to go to any special place to fast.
All Muslims should fast. But there is an exception for some. In the Qur'an, Allah s.w.t. said that the Muslims that don't need to fast are the ones who are sick, the ones who are young, I think also women in labor. You can find the ayah in the Qur'an. Also: Why do some Christians not go to Church? It is a similar question as not everyone who professes a faith follows all of the required tenets of that faith.
