As in other surveys, fatalities occur predominantly in men over 40 years of age, which suggests that there may be other contributory risk factors, for example, coronary atherosclerosis. Australia has over 1,500 species of native bees. Only ten of these species are stingless! These are the social native bees, Trigona and Austroplebeia.
