Hand sanitizer is made of water, isopropyl alcohol, glycerin, carbomer, fragrance, aminomethyl propanol, propylene glycol, isopropyl myristate and tocopheryl acetate. It is basically alcohol and water, with a bit of fragrance thrown in. The bottle of Purell Hand Sanitizer on my desk notes that the active ingredient is 62% ethyl alcohol.
Well, if you want your hands to be germ free, use hand sanitizers with 60- 90 percent of alcohol. Such as Purell, Germout, Germ-x, Bacide, Aquim, Aquawet and others with more than 60 percent of alcohol. So don't use non-alcohol hand sanitizers.
it all depends on what hand sanitizer you buy.. Purell contains alcohol and contains :The ingerdients to the purell hand sanitizer is water, isopropyl auchol, glycerin, carbomer, fragrence, aminomethyl propinol, propylene glycol, isopropylmyristate, and tocotheryl acetate. i did an experiment..created bacteria on agar and petri dishes and tested soapopular and purell. purell had no zone of inhibition ( and area wher there is no bacteria). but soapopular was soooooooooooo much better. you should still wash your hand whenever possible because han sanitizershave bad chemiclas most of the time..but not soapopular. you shud wash hand whenver posible cuz soapopular only gets rid of bacteria not dirt. PS: thi was sone by a 13 year old girl..no joke...i swear..teehee! :)
