Seventh-day Adventists in general do not celebrate the resurrection of Jesus. Some Adventists (especially conservative ones, and particularly in the US) are uncomfortable with the name "Easter" and it's origin and some of the other traditions associated with that holiday (eggs, bunnies, etc.), since they came from a pagan holiday. But the celebration of Christ's resurrection is, according to The Bible, being "baptized". (His death and being raised from the dead).
They certainly do celebrate New Year's. The American Seventh-day Adventists pretty much celebrate all holidays except Halloween. They do not eat pork, shrimp, any fish without scales, of course not bugs! They are just like normal people except there's something about them that's different. In Genesis 2, God says that he rested on the seventh day. All other six days He worked. So Adventists do pretty much everything God says.
Seventh-day Adventists in the United States and Canada have no problem observing Thanksgiving, especially because it is a day intended to remind us of the blessings of God.
To me it is not good to be celebrated coz the bible has no beginning of the year as long as all days are new in our life, we need to copy what Enoch did during his lifetime
