Swallows (family Hirundinidae - aerial feeders) are primarily insect eaters. They enjoy all kinds of insects except for the stinging types (wasps, bees). They do like a bit of fruit and other plant matter once in a while. There have been no reports of them partaking of sunflower seeds. The birds that LOVE sunflower seeds include the Tufted Titmouse, Goldfinch, Purple Finch, Chickadee, Nuthatches and other seed-eating birds.
I really do not think so. You would have better luck with cracked corn or birdseed mix that does not include the sunflower seed.
