First you want to make sure it is on the side stand and not on the center stand so the internal chain and sprocket will stay lined up after removal.
Remove the battery cable from the starter.
Remove the two mounting bolts from the starter.
You may have to remove the gear shifter to facillitate sliding the starter forward.
Carefully slide the starter forward rocking it slightly from side to side. Installation is the reverse. Make sure that the sprcket is lined up before installation.
