This is because different genes are switched on or off in different cells.

For example, the cells which develop into red blood cells have the gene for making hemoglobin (the red, oxygen-carrying pigment) switched on. Other cells have this gene switched off.

Do all the cells in a body system work together and look identical?

No they don't

What genetic information do your cells carry?

The genetic information, as in the sequence of the DNA, is identical in all the cells of the body.

Do all the cells of the body look alike?

no

Do cells are genetically identical?

Cells form new cells with identical genetic composition through mitosis. This essentially involves the cell producing enough resources for two cells and then splitting it's membranes into two separate and distinct bodies.

What kind of cells result from mitosis?

mitosis= body cells or somatic cells Meiosis= sex cells or germ cells

What type of cell division does your body cells undergo And why can your body cells ONLY use this type of cell division?

Body cells undergo mitotic cell division so that each daughter cell is genetically identical to each parent cell and to all other body cells.

What should be identical for every cell in the body?

the DNA should be the same in all cells as long as they part of the same organism.

Would there be identical cells in an animal organ?

No all cells are different

In what cells does mitosis occur?

All cells undergo mitosis othe than gametic cells (these are reproductive cells, ie sperm cells and ovums). Mitosis is the cells way of dividing to produce two identical daughter cells, which is necessary for all 'normal' cells of the body. The reproductive cells need to carry non identical information though otherwise you would end up with children who were all exactly alike

Can DNA from one part of the body is similar to DNA of the other part in protein sequence structure morphology etc?

The DNA in all body cells should be identical.

Why don't all plant cells look the same?

By definition, all human cells are animal cells. Different cells look different from others, no matter the organism. A human nerve looks almost identical to a nerve from a chimp, but a human nerve looks nothing like a cell from a chimp's muscles.

What statement is correct regarding the cells and DNA?

all the cells have identical DNA
