Technically yes. By definition percussion instrument is any object which produces a sound by being hit with an implement, shaken, rubbed, scraped, or by any other action which sets the object into vibration. Basically instrument must have an outside source of friction to make a sound. Whether that be air blowing through, or a bow on a string. I suppose you don't have to hit it to make a sound though. You could have a set of wind chimes and then blow on them and have them hit each other, then creating a frequency.
No. Although all percussion instruments produce sounds through the vibration of a stretched membrane or the instrument as a whole, some percussion instruments produce sound by Blowing, Plucking, Friction, Scraping or Shaking.
Some are hit with mallets which are basically sticks. There's also instruments such as the tambourine which aren't hit with sticks.
Yes and a piano is also percussion because when you press the keys a hammer hit a string and a hammer strikes a wire producing the sound.

A percussion instrument is an instrument that requires the player to hit it rather then say blow into it for example. An example of a percussion instrument would be a drum or a xylophone or the cymbals or a gong. An example of a non percussion instrument would be a trumpet or a violin or a trombone or a cello.
the tambourine belongs to the percussion family because you hit it
To play percussion, simply hit something to make noise.
A bass drum is considered a percussion instrument. Anything that you hit is percussion. Even if you hit your legs. That is considered percussion. Of course your legs aren't an instrument though. is it a tuned percussion or untuned????
A percussion instrument is hit to be played, although if you were Pete Townshed, you might be able to get away calling it percussion.
