Yes. The fruiting bodies of plants, be it those that we eat or those that are inedible are those parts of plants that grow the seeds that are to be used for the next generation. EVERY fruit we eat has some form of seeds found in it, be it bananas (yes, bananas have seeds in them!), apples, tomatoes, eggplants, cucumbers, or Oranges.
Those fruits that do not have seeds in them have been bred to not have seeds in them because they have been purposely artificially selected to be eaten, not to be "parents" of another potential fruit tree or forb. Such fruits have an extra set of genes in their genetics that allow this to happen. But that doesn't mean it doesn't make them a fruit. Even though they are genetically altered, they're still a fruit.

∙ 14y agoIf a plant that we eat has seeds, it is a fruit. If it doesn't it's a vegetable. So a vegetable would never be a fruit. Bananas don't look like they have seeds but they actually do. Some people think kiwi and/or tomatoes are vegetables but they are actually fruits.

∙ 14y agoyes they are. if they have seeds in them it means its a fruit. so a handy way to tell if you are eating a fruit or veggie is to see if there is seeds in it. veggies have no seeds and fruits have seeds.

∙ 11y agoNo, not all food with seeds are considered fruit. For instance, green beans have seeds and are categorized as vegetables.
Technically, beans are considered fruit, but most people think of them as vegetables because they are served with the main meal. A few fruits are legally considered vegetables for tax purposes. People once fought over such things and left it to the courts to decide.
