Some do, like the Mormons, Catholics, and Free Methodists. Some don't, like the United Church of Christ, the Episcopal Church, and most Baptist churches.

Churches that do hate other groups of people are failing to follow what Jesus taught. Anybody that does not love another person cannot love God.

"Do not judge others, and you will not be judged. For you will be treated as you treat others. The standard you use in judging is the standard by which you will be judged."

Matthew 7:1-2 (NLT)

"You have heard the law that says, 'Love your neighbor' and hate your enemy. But I say, love your enemies! Bless those who curse you. Do good to those who hate you. Pray for those who persecute you! In that way, you will be acting as true children of your Father in heaven. For he gives his sunlight to both the evil and the good, and he sends rain on the just and the unjust alike. If you love only those who love you, what reward is there for that? Even corrupt tax collectors do that much. If you are kind only to your friends, how are you different from anyone else? Even pagans do that. But you are to be perfect, even as your Father in heaven is perfect.

Matthew 5:43-48 (NLT)

But anyone who does not love does not know God, for God is love.

1 John 4:8 (NLT)

We love because he first loved us. Whoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or sister is a liar. For whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen. And he has given us this command: Anyone who loves God must also love their brother and sister.

1 John 4:19-21 (NIV)

No, you cannot generalize the opinions of a few to the whole population of Catholics. Not agreeing with a life style does not mean a dislike of a person. Just like God hates sin, but He does not hate the sinner. We may disagree of a number of issues, with a discussion that can lead to understanding, as long as we can agree to disagree with mutual respect.

Catholic Answer

Like any other group, there are whole different kinds of Catholics, some of whom are intolerant, and some of whom are very tolerant. Catholics should, however, be striving to emulate Our Blessed Lord and to love all people. But please note that Our Blessed Lord, while He did love all people, without exception, nevertheless called them to a life of holiness, "to repent", "to renounce sin and to follow [Him]". In Catholic terminology, homosexual or, better, same-sex attracted people are human beings, like everyone else; and, like everyone else, they are sinners who are called to take up their cross and follow Our Blessed Lord. Gay, on the other hand, usually denotes a person who, instead of denying themselves and following Our Blessed Lord (something which we are ALL called to do), are embracing their sinful lifestyle and trying to get the culture, and the Church, to embrace their sin with them. This all comes back to the old adage, "hate the sin, and love the sinner." Please note that, except for Our Blessed Lord and His Mother, we are all of us sinners, and we are all called to take up our cross daily and follow Him. Absolutely no good ever comes from embracing our sin and following the other guy instead of Our Blessed Lord. I would heartily suggest that you pick up two excellent books to read: Making Gay Okay, by Robert R. Reilly, and Homosexuality and the Catholic Church by Fr. John F. Harvey, O.S.F.S. Both of these are excellent, I am using them next week for a talk in my parish, and I would recommend them to anyone with questions about how Catholics feel about homosexuals and their lifestyle. Religions don't hate people. I know that in the Christian religion, God tells us in The Bible that men and women are supposed to marry...not men and men ect. No matter what we do, God will still love us.

The bible is a collection of books and stories, many of them designed to teach, like parables. It has no feelings of hate or love towards anything.
