Basically, you could say that all religions are based on lies and all religions are based on truth. So really, when we teach our children about the religion we believe in, we could be teaching them to lie. (to add on to that, if you have that mentality, missionaries are people that lie for a job.)

No, religion is not based on a core falshood. The tradition of mankind is that God exists. This was the belief of ancient societies all over the world. Some believed in gods, others in One God, but all believed that life was created, not accidental. At this fundamental level, all religion is on a united front, since "Atheism is worse than idolatry" (Maimonides).
As to specifics, that's a different (perhaps unrelated) question. But every religion mandates goodness, spirituality, and belief; and they all teach that this universe is not all that exists; and consequently every one of them is on a plane far above non-belief.
