They could but it would serve no purpose. What they need is life-force, which only comes from living things. Any blood in a vampire has already lost this all important essence. I know of no instance of a vampire even attempting to do this.

∙ 15y agoNo, to be a vampire all you have to do is steal life-force. The classical vampire does this while stealing blood but there are several types of vampires that by-pass that particular step and steal life-force by other means. See questions on types of vampires for list of such.
