Human blood is better tasting, but for civilized vampires, they will choose to feed on animal blood. Blood has a nice smell to them. When vampires feed on a lot of blood, they will be able to ignore the scent of blood in the air, and they will have golden eyes. If they're thirsty, they'll have black eyes or red eyes.
