    • (those who don't use iodized salt): Iodine (90 micrograms per day).
  • Some vegans (and many omnivores):
    • (those who don't eat enough green vegetables): Calcium.
    • (young women of childbearing age) Iron.
  • Possible supplement:
    • (especially for those prone to depression): DHA (200 to 300 mg several times a week)

Not really. A well balanced vegan diet contains all the nutrients the body needs.

Every person absorbs vitamins and minerals differently.

A multi vitamin mineral supplement should be taken by everyone, because most foods that people eat are deficient in certain micro nutrients.

One possible exception is vitamin B12, which is really not found in significant quantities except in animal products (it's produced by bacteria, not by the animals themselves, but the bacteria grow in the intestines of animals).
