Monkeys are no exception.
Most monkeys are however in the upper part when it comes to brain and thought patterns/functions. They are very well aware of the danger posed by alligators and are exceptionally careful when in their proximity.
It surely do happen that a monkey is caught by an alligator, but this is in general the young and inexperienced ones.
The older monkeys have been seen teasing lions and alligators, mocking them whilst moving too fast to be caught.
