They each can have different meaning depending on your intent. They can each represent a different God or Goddess. Each directions also represents a phase in ones life. East, childhood; south teen/young adult; west adulthood, maturity and North, the winter of one's life, this is where the crone of death lives. There are many interpretations to all of the above.
