I've heard some debate about this over the years. Some say yes and some say no. I'm not sure how you would go about measuring or verifying this. I can tell you that I believe they do because of the experiences I've had with my two dogs over the last 12 years. They may not reason the way we do but they do have emotion. The degree to which they experience those emotions may vary from species to species. In short, I don't "know," but I think so.
It depends on which animal you are talking about. Many highly evolved mammals do have complex emotions. On the other end, there are animals that do not have any at all.
It really depends on the type of animal, some don't even have the brain power to have emotions. For more intelligent animals, such as dolphins, tests have shown that they can have feelings. eg. they will fell "sad" if their baby dies.
Carl Linnaeus was the Swedish botanist and zoologist who believed that the emotions of animals became more complex as the animals themselves became more complex. Linnaeus is one of the fathers of modern ecology and the father of taxonomy.
Mammals, such as dogs, pigs, cats and humans, have complex emotions such as happiness, sadness, anger, etc. Complex motions are carried out by the limbic system in the brain. Reptiles have a limited array of emotions, such as fear and satisfaction. However, they do not have complex emotions like mammals. Brainless animals, like anemones and oysters, are incapable of processing emotions.

Animals have no emotions. cats and dogs are not happy to see you. they are not depressed. Those are human emotions. There are only a few animals who do have some emotions. like the elephant, or the dolphin and some primates. but overall, animals have no emotions. Humans do, that's why they are animals.
Animals with no brains, like oysters, coral, anemones, etc., are not concious, and therefore do not have emotions at all. Repitles have basic emotions, and they will feel fear, satisfaction, stressed, lonely, etc. Mammals like dogs and pigs have complex emotions such as happy, sad, angry, hurt, love, etc.
No. There are animals without brains, like oysters, which are incapable of thinking or feeling any emotions.
That would not be a good idea. While all life should be treated with respect, one should understand that not all animals are the same mentally. For example, though dogs do have a variety of complex emotions, dogs do not mate for the sake of pleasure, so you are not "cockblocking" if you pull them away before they mate. In fact, many animals probably do not even have emotions, lacking a brain.
The nature of the animal farm is quite complex in the nature that can't really be explained. The animals, the powerful majestic creatures barred behind the cells of their creator, Mr Jones represent the hatred of the world locking up our complex emotions. Amongst the madness of Animalism, there is peace to be found with optimism, and there, we have, the nature of of life of farm and animals.
Phylum Vertebrata has the most complex animals.
Because we all have different lives and different experiences. The emotions that develop as a result are individual-specific.
complex animals have no back bones and simple animals have backbones
Cells are so specialized to carry out all the complex functions in animals and plants.
