I had a reaction to Bactrim DS that kicked up my temperature to a peak of 101.4 degrees Fahrenheit. Other effects were severe nausea and loss of taste (and food tasted excessively salty). The symptoms were obvious within just a few hours of taking the first dose, but I didn't know it was the Bactrim. I took the Bactrim for three days before the doctor told me to stop because of the side effects. After I stopped taking the Bactrim, my temperature returned to normal in about a day, though it took a couple of days longer for my sense of taste to return.
