Yes! But only for a period of about 5 minutes while it is having its meal of your blood which normally happens when you are asleep in your bed, the favourite time being about one hour before dawn. After completing its feast which may take 5 minutes or slightly more, it will then crawl or jump off you and return to its hiding place where it remains throughout each day unless disturbed.

That will NOT be on you but will most likely either somewhere in your bed's structure such as in the seams and crevices of your mattress, or somewhere in your bedroom or nearby where you sleep. Favourite places include furniture or if you have a lot of clutter in your bedroom that could be a very likely hiding place, or else in chest of drawers or wardrobes, or under the carpet, or in the floor boards or in cracks and crevices in the room walls or various other places.

You will probably not wake up during the 5 minutes or so while the bedbug is on you during the night and even if you do happen to wake up, you may still not be aware the bedbug is there. That is because the bedbug injects a chemical into you before commencing its meal, which contains a coagulant to stop your blood and oxygen carrying haemoglobin coming out too fast and an anaesthetic. The anaesthetic component once injected makes you numb at place the bedbug inserts its skin piercing equipment into you before starting its meal. So that is why you do not feel a thing in that part of your skin or feel a need to scratch until the anaesthetic wears off which will be long after the bedbug has finished its meals and returned to its hiding place engorged with your blood. But you may see little red spots in your bed linen when you make your bed next day, as it may excrete some of your blood on its way back.

They are usually found in bodies of water and they feed on plants and insects. Some of the common species of water beetles can even be kept as pets as they are relatively easy to take care of. The following are some of the ways you can distinguish water beetles from bedbugs: Water beetles are usually bigger than bedbugs ranging in size from 0.2 to 2.0 inches. Water beetles have long antennae while bedbugs do not. Water beetles have wings and can fly while bedbugs cannot. In conclusion water beetles are not known to bite humans like bedbugs do. They are also much larger than bedbugs and have visible wings and antennae. Therefore it is unlikely that you will experience any discomfort from water beetles.
