Bibron geckos do not change color as in trying to mimic their background but as with most geckos, they can lighten and darken depending on a few factors: stress, husbandry, light cycle, tank mates, dehydration, malnutrition, diet or even breeding season. If they animals are not completely happy and content, they tend to look darker than the usual color.
