I have heard it can but i also heard it cant... i honestly just care about its tankmates, how big it gets, and if it has a decent amount of room to swim... a 40 gallon that is lightly planted with many hiding spots is a well suited environment for a black ghost knifefish! im also thinking of getting one :)
The supposed total growth for a Black Ghost knife is 47 Cm and should be kept in a 500 Liter Tank to reach that length. I would imagine, in the wild, they will grow larger.
black ghost knife fish gets nutrients and energy from the food it eat

Black Ghost Knife Fish are semi-agressive. They should be fine though. The angelfish should be fine.
Depends what store!
It uses an electrical field produced in the fish's body.
The fish must be small enough to be eaten by the knife. There are also small shrimp (ghost shrimp) which some small knifes will find easier to catch than the faster guppies. As the Knife grows so will it's prey.
The same place every other fish gets its energy. From the food it eats.
