Answer: I can only answer this question for myself, and other black people I have come across with in my life. I find that being called "coloured" is a very old fashioned way of referring to black people.
Answer: Very many blacks do not like to be called colored because of the implications it gives. To say someone is colored makes it sound like they were not always black and that to be black is something that deviates from the "normal", starting tint (being white). That is to say, they were somewhere along the line, "colored" in, or that if they were normal, their skin wouldn't be darkened how it is.
Undoubtedly, white people would call it an offensive term to call them, "uncolored", so it's definitely not understandable why anyone would assume blacks wouldn't mind being call colored.
