Expander a are painless except you talk a bit funny and feel you have less space for your tongue. It's braces that hurts for the first week.

To me the braces doesn't hurt. Before thinking of getting braces think of a person putting super glue on your teeth it doesn't hurt that bad. Then you can choose your color for your braces 1 time every month. But if you put your braces like when you are 17 it hurts more so I recommend you to do your braces as soon as possibleI took out my braces already. =]
To me, spacers hurt less than braces! But for some people its the other way around! Hope this helps!
Expander pain may vary depending on weather or not you have a bonded or a removable. Removable expanders can hurt when you have to "activate" them in the morning. It adds pressure, but after 3 weeks or so you should be used to it. Bonded expanders hurt ALOT on the first day you get it. Since it required no "activations" the pressure is constantly the same. Bonded expanders are best for making permanent results. But… Read More
I found that the bands actually hurt a lot more than the actual braces...in fact putting the braces on was a piece of cake... :) i agree, i mean i have bands on ATM and im getting more braces (traintracks) in two days time and the pulling of the teeth from the bands is extremely painful and, as all my mates have traintracks, apprantley the actual braces don't hurt as much and the only thing… Read More

Having braces placed on your teeth does not hurt. As they braces are adjusted periodically, your mouth can be uncomfortable, but tolerable.
yes it does hurt when you get your braces fixed. Its just like getting your braces put on again for the first time.

When you are at the orthodontist and they are putting on your braces they do you hurt but after a few hours it you will feel a little pain because your tooth is shifting and remember to not drink cold water or else it will titan your braces and that will hurt and when you drink warm water your braces will loosen up
Braces hurt because your teeth are moving, they're getting straight!
No, no, no, it doesn't hurt and your braces don't get caught together like in movies!
They can hurt for a couple of days to a couple of weeks, depends on the amount of braces and the person.
Sometimes, one tooth may need more straightening than another, so the braces pull on that tooth more, and causes it to feel more painful than other teeth.
It feels like you have meat in between your molars but it doesn't hurt that bad but it depends how you are in pain. If you are a person that can deal with pain then it probably will not hurt but if you cannot handle pain then it will hurt. WARNING: DO NOT THINK ABOUT THE PAIN! IT WILL HURT 10x MORE! PS. I have had spacers and braces and I will say the braces… Read More
Yes, my sister says so, she has braces and I have 3 braces on my back teeth. They do hurt to eat with braces the first week, but trust me, you'll get used to it. Hope this helps! :-)
As a former and recent adult brace wearer, I'll answer this question by focusing on the word "hurt." Kids, I believe, are definitely more reactive to physical pain. So, if you are speaking of physical pain, perhaps braces do hurt more on kids. However, children's teeth move more easily too, so maybe they have an edge on adults there. On the other hand, as an adult, I had to go through a lot of emotional… Read More
No It Does Not Hurt At All Yes the will hurt like crap
Getting braces only hurt when they first tighten it. It loosens up in a couple days.
NO.... its just a slight pressure and that's it.... spacers hurt more than braces though... put putting them in is nothing.
Very!! They hurt a lot!! :(
The act of removing braces can hurt sometimes if the orthodontist has to exert considerable force to detach them. However, one's teeth do not hurt once the braces are removed. There is a strange sensation, but mostly that it is the noticeable absence of the constant level of pain/discomfort that was present while the braces were on.
no. I have braces and it doesnt hurt to get them
I have braces and NO they dont hurt when they are put on but after it will hurt to eat and bite down but that can be fixed with ortho wax which the orthodontist should supply! good luck!
Not much. Braces will hurt because of the shifting of teeth. Your orthodontist may recommend bonjella to bring down the swelling.
If your braces don't hurt after a while after you get them your fine. It's actually better after a year because you are used to having them on.

No it does not.
They hurt as much as when you get them on, sadly.
They won't hurt your braces.
All braces are removable and if you have them on already that is the worst it's going to feel like getting them off doesn't hurt it's actually relieving and doesn't hurt.
Yes they hurt when you get them put on your teeth and they hurt when you get them tightened. I know this as I have braces that the moment but you get used to them quite easily and the pain goes away quite quickly aswell. :)
It hurts some people more than others. But it is bearable since your teeth will look better.
they actually dont hurt.
Braces do not tend to hurt, it is more of an ache feeling, even so it is nothing a little painkillers can't handle and the ache should be gone within 2-3 days. Please do check instructions before taking any medication
while getting the braces on at the dentist office it dosen't hurt because they num your mouth, but after you get your braces on and your at home it may hurt a little but just like a pinch, so there's nothing really to worry about, it's all going to be ok.
I have expanders currently, and let me tell you, it doesn't that much. actually, NO PAIN at all. The only bad thing is that the wires cut your cheek REALLY bad,REALLY REALLY BAD, so i recommend wax, go to any Walgreen and ask them for wax, before you get expanders by the way. also, i have a gap between my teeth because of my expanders. your cheeks are going to be sore if you dont… Read More
Yes and no. They hurt when you first get them but after that, they only hurt when you get them tightened. But braces are so worth it.
Braces do not hurt at all when they are glued onto your teeth. And don't listen to anyone who says they do. Sure it feels a bit weird but there is no pain! :)
No, it doesn't hurt when you get your braces out. They just pop them out and it only takes a few seconds, although you might feel a little pressure when they are loosening them. Other than that they don't hurt at all.
