Do braces hurt when they are being placed on your teeth?
Having braces placed on your teeth does not hurt. As they braces are adjusted periodically, your mouth can be uncomfortable, but tolerable.
Your teeth are MOVING with braces. So, they WILL hurt.
because your not used to them being there
Braces are not inserted into the gums or in your teeth, they are placed on your teeth using dental glue. Your teeth or gums may feet sore for a few days to a week after placement due to the tightness of the braces. You should take some Ibuprofen or Motrin after placement and after tightening.
Braces hurt because your teeth are moving, they're getting straight!
It didn't hurt when i got my teeth whitened so i don't think it will hurt when you get braces
Yes they hurt when you get them put on your teeth and they hurt when you get them tightened. I know this as I have braces that the moment but you get used to them quite easily and the pain goes away quite quickly aswell. :)
Yes , apparently the braces get stuck between your teeth.
Braces no doubt about it I have mine and they kill my teeth. But I think cuz wen I take them off I will have great teeth But take my word brace hurt
Not much. Braces will hurt because of the shifting of teeth. Your orthodontist may recommend bonjella to bring down the swelling.
No, it doesn't hurt to get them on at all! There's just some pressure on your teeth a few hours later.
When I got my braces taken off, it wasn't very painful. There was some slight pain, but nothing serious. I personally didn't think that it hurt too bad. I only had braces on my top teeth, so I don't know about bottom braces.
Yes, my sister says so, she has braces and I have 3 braces on my back teeth. They do hurt to eat with braces the first week, but trust me, you'll get used to it. Hope this helps! :-)
Not really The Orthodontist can hurt you putting them in but this is rare. Your teeth can Ache but again this is rare, does not hurt much and will not last long
Nope, the retainer is fitted to suit your teeth so as long as you wear it often your teeth will always fit in it and will not hurt.
Yes, because your teeth are sore for a few days after getting braces, so naturally it hurts to brush.
Braces do not hurt at all when they are glued onto your teeth. And don't listen to anyone who says they do. Sure it feels a bit weird but there is no pain! :)
Actually, braces don't hurt. Your teeth are just sore from the orthodontist treatment you've been receiving. Your teeth are moving. In my case, my teeth aren't sore anymore because I've had them for almost two years. But your teeth could become sore if your orthodontist tightens your braces. Don't worry... the soreness will get away soon. Just hang in there.
NOOO WAY!!! Not ever. They just glue the braces onto your teeth, it doesnt hurt, i got braces be4.
Because the tightness of your braces you will feel uncomfortable and the brackets might be rubbing on your gum or cheek tissue.
get braces it help a lot but to can get it done from the doctor they will pull them in together but get braces hurt less!
To me the braces doesn't hurt. Before thinking of getting braces think of a person putting super glue on your teeth it doesn't hurt that bad. Then you can choose your color for your braces 1 time every month. But if you put your braces like when you are 17 it hurts more so I recommend you to do your braces as soon as possibleI took out my braces already. =]
they actually dont hurt.
Yes it does.
well, right now i have braces and now my teeth are straight. when the orthodontist puts your braces on, it doesn't really hurt. you don't really feel anything. after you get your, your teeth start to hurt because they start to move since the braces are making them move. so don't worry. everything will be great. :D :) :P
The act of removing braces can hurt sometimes if the orthodontist has to exert considerable force to detach them. However, one's teeth do not hurt once the braces are removed. There is a strange sensation, but mostly that it is the noticeable absence of the constant level of pain/discomfort that was present while the braces were on.
Power chains are used for when you have gaps they help close them or when its almost time to get your braces taken off, you get it to keep your teeth straight. I had power chains since the gaps in my teeth they hurt
If your teeth hurt, braces will not reduce the pain. Therefore, the state will not pay for them.
Yes as they quickly move teeth to close spaces.
When I got my braces off it didn't hurt at all. I felt some slight pressure on my teeth, but that was all. I suppose that if your teeth are already sensitive to pain at the time or a bit sore it could increase the pain slightly, but that's it.
I will be honest ...it doesn't feel all that great. It depends on what you are having done. For me it was the bands they placed on my back teeth that hurt the most. On a pain scale from1-10 I would say it is a 6.
No, it won't hurt. Just be aware of them and make sure you don't hit your partners lip or teeth with them.
When the orthodontist puts on your braces it doesn't hurt as the coolness of the glue kind of numbs your teeth but the aftermath (30 minutes after) does because the metal starts to make an impact on your teeth. It sounds a bit scary but you will get used to it and remember that using a brace with increase your health and the beauty of your teeth!
Some orthodontic patients experience discomfort the first week after their braces are placed, and a few days after each adjustment. Aspirin, Advil, or Tylenol usually relieves this discomfort.
No, they don't hurt, Lingual Braces are hidden behind the teeth, thus may cause irritation on your tongue and uncomfortable in the beginning. They are customized braces and are very effective in most of the cases, your orthodontic treatment is hidden from others.
the doctors normally put anticeptic, and numb the pain
yes. you may have to have some pulled, but it doesnt hurt.
No, but then if they are growing in your dentist might reconsider braces. Also if your tooth fell/ got knocked out that wont matter at all.
The reason why people need braces is because sometimes they have an overbite or crooked teeth. I am getting braces in a couple of weeks and my doctor said they did hurt when they were tightened but that's it
when getting braces on! Yes, and no! Yes, because when you first get them It will hurt a little bit! But after a while it goes away! And if u have crooked teeth like me it hurts a whole lot more!
Braces generally don't interfere with kissing (unless they're making his teeth hurt and the pain interferes).

no, but they taste horrible. They harden fast, and its really neat to see how your teeth look
No. If they aren't sugar free they could permanately damage your teeth.
No getting braces tighten does not hurt it only is uncomfortable but after a hour with your braces they start to hurt.
The plasma light is like a blue light that is used to dry the glue on your teeth after the braces square is place on. It does not hurt at all. Some dentists do not use plasma lights because they have chemicals to dry the glue that does not hurt either. Do not be scared of getting braces it does not at all when they put them on. There is only a little pain later… Read More
No, but it really doesn't hurt. It is a little uncomfortable because they are moving and stretching your lips around but it doesn't hurt until after your braces are all on and your teeth start to move. Your teeth will probably be sensitive for the first few days and you should just eat soft foods like macaroni and cheese, mashed potatoes, soup, etc.
with braces u will need the dentist to tighten them every now and again when this happens there will be a slight pain because there is strain on the teeth but after a while the pain disperses until the dentist tightens them hope this helps and doesnt scare u :)
Hi It depends on the shape of teeth plus your age if you get in early age then it hurts less.
It hurts some people more than others. But it is bearable since your teeth will look better.
