Young kittens cannot have babies. They are around 5-6 months of age to come into heat for the first time, which is when they can become pregnant. Even at this age, they are still kittens and letting a kitten become pregnant is incredibly risky - it puts the life of the mother and unborn kittens in needless danger.

You should spay your kitten before this time so you do not have to go through these heat cycles. Normally a cat will remain in heat until they become pregnant. You will help prevent the cat explosion problem and have a better pet if you spay her at around 4-5 months.

No, it is not possible. Cats are different to other mammals in that the female requires the act of mating in order to stimulate ovulation. This is called "reflex ovulation". A female that is not mated will not ovulate. Most mammals will ovulate automatically at a set time, usually during breeding season, but no animal can conceive without a male's sperm.

Yes that is very possible. You should take her into the Veterinarian and have him or her check Momma Cat out. Your Vet will probably either x-ray her or just simply palpate her abdominal area to see if any kittens left. Better to be safe than sorry. A kitten left inside will die (if not dead already) and then become very toxic to the Mother Cat & eventually kill her. Hopefully the Vet will tell you that she is all done. Bring in the kittens with you and have him check them out too, be sure to keep them warm in a box with some hot water bottles under some thick blankets as you do not wish to burn their very sensitive skin so make sure lots of blankets between the kittens and the hot water bottles. Put the Momma Cat on a good name brand Kitten food so she keeps up her own nutrition plus her milk supply. After the kittens are weaned put her back on a good name brand of Adult cat food. Sadly, it is very likely that a intact (not yet spayed) cat will eventually fall pregnant. Female cats usually come into heat frequently - every two to three weeks - and each time will do anything to escape outside to find an intact male cat to mate with. Cats in heat become escape artists no matter how careful an owner is; squeezing themselves out of open windows or bolting out of doors.

Generally speaking, it is best to spay your cat before it reaches sexual maturity around 6 - 8 months old.
