assuming you are asking if they stop better than the older semi-metallic pads, or even semi-ceramic, yes they are designed to stop better. although they tend to be squeakier
Ceramic is better.
Mostly ceramic in the better ones.
Metallic
No, very different. Metallic pads are generally more expensive but much better depending on vehicle. Ceramic pads are even better on most vehicles.
I believe that they would perform just as well or better than the fiber and carbon pads.
No, but in many respects (such as in brake pads) it's actually better than metal.

Brake fade. - You can avoid this by fitting ceramic pads or better quality shoes.
The longest lasting brake pads are Ceramic Brake Pads. They are quiet, are low dust , handle heat better and recover more quickly which makes them better for more aggressive use situations.
no not all ceramic, there are semi metalic, which i believe are considered organic, it is my understanding, that ceramic pads are more durable and don't make as much brake dust, but if you don't use quality brake rotors the ceramic pads will ruin the rotors
ceramic pads are best for any vehicle
Hey Barry ==This is the nature of ceramic pads. You just have to live with it. goodluckJoe Actually its because you bought the cheap ceramic pads and did not put the grease on the back of the pads. I have put many ceramic pads on my own vehicles and have never had one make any noise. If its bothering you next time put the ceramic noise reduction grease on the back. Should have came with the pads when you bought them. Also make sure and buy the more expensive ultra quiet ceramic pads. Yeah they are $5 more but well worth the extra.
