As in most countries, the level of education varies based on geographic, economic and social conditions. Brazil is home to some of the most remote regions of the world (think inner Amazon) and one of the largest cities as well (Sao Paulo) and since I cannot speak specifically to all regions I will give you my experience. I am not a native of the country but did spend several consecutive years living there in various sized cities and towns. Most youth attended school daily where several "blocks" of classes were offered, typically a morning, afternoon and evening block schedule.
Trade schools and short-term skill programs are often used for post secondary education but many of the larger cities have fine colleges and universities.
