I Don't believe scientists have bred gargoyles (auriculatus) with the cresteds (Cilatus) It's scientifically impossible. In some instances, if the tank requirements reach everyones needs, gargs have been kept with cresteds in breeding groups. This means that the male gargoyle gecko and the male crested were provided with enough space to minimize the confrontations. This has only been done in studies and Breeders do not recommend this.

∙ 10y agoMale geckos in general cannot be housed with another male period. The smaller male will ultimately be killed. Gargoyles tend to be more aggressive than cresteds and grow to be a little more robust. These two species come from the same country of New Caledonia but they live on separate islands and do not come face to face in the wild, therefore cannot be housed together.

∙ 11y agoCrested geckos would VASTLY prefer to be kept alone, and breeders do not usually house them in pairs or groups, as this species is less social than most geckos. They are introduced only briefly for mating, and then are separated again.

∙ 10y agoNo, even though they are both from New Caledonia, a gargoyle gecko is way to aggressive to house with a crested gecko. gargoyles are so aggressive that during mating they both get injured

Wait. Crested Gecko often lose their tails and no they do not grow back as with other geckos. Just make sure that the area where the tail dropped from is kept clean till it heals.

Crested geckos should not be breeding all year round, as this can quickly deplete their calcium stores and weaken the animal. As a hobbyist, we are trying to mimic their natural environment and in the wild, a crested gecko undergoes a cooling period. During the winter months in New Caledonia, a crested geckos metabolism slows, they spend less time awake during the nights and they do not breed in order to build up enough fat and calcium for the next season. In captivity, cresteds will lay egg from March/April - October/November. During this period, they will lay 2 hard shelled eggs 2-4 inches deep in moist soil every 30-45days. These eggs then incubate for 60-120 days depending on heat and moisture.

Geckos are a large family of lizards that includes over 1,200 different species, with new species being discovered regularly. Geckos are found everywhere from the extreme Southern US, throughout South America and many islands. They are found in Africa, Indonesia, and Asia, and Australia...in short, on every continent other than Antarctica, and most of the warmer islands. Some live in desert regions, while other prefer rainforests, etc. While there are no herbivorous geckos, some species are omnivorous, and eat fruit in addition to insects and other small animals. What geckos should eat depends on the species of gecko! The vast majority of species are insectivorous, and do eat only insects. Among the commonly kept species that eat other things, the Rhacodactylus geckos of New Caledonia are the best known and most widely available in the pet trade--in particular, the Crested Gecko, which is largely frugivorous (eats a lot of fruit). Other popular geckos that eat other things are the Madagascan Day Geckos of genus Phelsuma, which are known to feed on insects and nectar. Rhacodactylus and Phelsuma geckos can both be maintained in captivity on a special powdered meal replacement formula which can be bought in pet stores, and is served mixed with water. The Repashy brand is the best known and must trusted of these. Repashy makes a crested gecko diet, and a day gecko diet. There are some other species of geckos that have proven able to live and breed, and remain healthy on a diet of Repashy MRP (meal replacement powder), including mourning geckos, and Lygodactylus geckos of some species. It is not recommended to give fruit to crested geckos any longer, as providing the correct balance of nutrition for them on a diet of fruit and insects is very challenging, and the MRP formulas have taken all of the guesswork out of it, and allow these animals to thrive.

The Leopard geckos would pick on the panther geckos. Also, the climate of the two needs to be very different. Panther geckos need higher humidity levels than Leopards, and lower temperatures. Together, either the leopard gecko, or the panther gecko, will suffer, if not both. Please, don't keep these two creatures together. It won't work out well.
