Crows are omnivorous and eat whatever is available-insects, Spiders, snails, fish, snakes, eggs, nestling birds, cultivated fruits, nuts, and vegetables. They also scavenge dead animals and garbage. We are ranchers/farmers and crows love to follow after a plow and pick at the insects, etc., that come up with the soil. They also love to pick at the fallen grain and are seen all over the pastures and ranch. They are intelligent birds, but do harass smaller birds who often will chase them away from their smaller nests because crows will eat the eggs and baby birds of smaller tweet birds.
I believe that crows stole and perhaps ate my water lettuce from my fish pond.
