Where it may look like your dog is watching tv, they are to a point, but they don't watch it the same as us.
TV doesn't stimulate their most useful sense which is smell, they see flickering light better than humans so they see each frame instead of the whole picture like humans, they cannot see objects on the screen, just movement, shapes, and light because they have very little depth perception, and they aren't able to see as many colors as us.
