Yes but there are areas that it is much more likely to happen and areas it is not likely to happen. Of course this is because of tectonic plates and when they shift and in what direction they bump into each other. The earthquakes and volcanoes are more likely to happen along the Ring of Fire which shows where the tectonic plates are. It is a bit hard to explain though.
