yes they do
enough to kill you
I had one go into my ear Friday night. It does happen. As far as lay eggs Ill find out.
Silverfish will not lay eggs in a humans ear. They will only lay eggs where they find their food and a human is not one of their food sources.
I believe earwigs came from Europe. They were brought here by someone to help control an aphid problem that kept consuming vegetation and plants, causing the to rot out. now since the earwigs have no natural enemy in Northern America, there constantly multiplying and becoming a real nuisance. The myth that they will crawl in your ear at night and lay eggs, is exactly that, a myth. That is actually how they got their name, and therefor named themēare(ear) wicga(insects) or earwig.
Plants they feed on typically include clover, dahlias, zinnias, butterfly bush, hollyhock, lettuce, strawberry, sunflowers, celery, peaches, plums, grapes, potatoes, roses, seedling beans and beets, and tender grass shoots and roots; they have also been known to eat corn silk, damaging the corn.Quoted from the related link below.
because of an Europe legend that they crawl into your ear and lay eggs
There is no evidence that they transmit diseases to humans or other animals. Their pincers are commonly believed to be dangerous, but in reality even the curved pincers of males cause little harm to humans. It is a common urban legend that earwigs crawl into the human ear and lay eggs in the brain. Finding earwigs in the human ear is rare.
