The ear from what I remember that these bugs have a nasty old wife's tale of going into people's brain by the ear and lay their eggs in there, then newly hatching would slowly eat the brain.

............... but this never really happens if you clean your ear and make sure that you don't have bugs in where you (earwigs live in humid and warm crevices).

Because it used to be beleved that they crawled into people's ears when they were sleeping. But in reality they wouldn't dare come anywhere near humans even when they're sleeping.
