Not ALL fish do live in Salt water. There are plenty of "Fresh water" fish around....Wikipedia states that 41% of all known species of fish are found in freshwater. SO that means that ALL the rest are found in salt water.
All marine fishes.... Eels start their life in salt water, migrate to fresh water and then return to the sea to bread.
Different species of fish live in salt water or fresh water. Fresh water fish cannot live in salt water, and vice versa.
Most fish that are kept as pets are Freshwater Fish. You should check whether the breed you own is fish or salt water.

it depends... is it a salt water or fresh water type of fish. if it is a fresh water kind there is something wrong with it but if it is a salt water kind apparently some have been found to swim backwards for no apparent reason.
I guess a dead fish would not swim too well and neither would a shark that has been prey to shark fin hunters. I do not know of any living normal fish that can not swim. Fish can rest for a few seconds and not swim than but if a fish stops swimming than its vital organs stop working.Exactly.The dead fish can not swim...
