I have a 93 and it gets 25 MPG around town. A little better on the highway, but not much.
First check to see if the Geo Trackers AC compressor is running by looking at it and seeing that the clutch middle part is spinning. If it is, then check the freon pressure with a gauge. Low freon is the most common cause of AC air not being cool enough.
