Gerbils should always have another gerbil living with it, it provides a much more happier home if its got another gerbil to communicate with. They get lonely and can sometimes die out of lonelyness. They like to groom each other and love the company. They help each other all the time and they live in small groups in the wild. Hope this helps :) x
