no. i used to own 4 rats and i asked the same question i read it in a book on rats.
rats are very nearly blind they can only really detect movement and sound properly.
TOTALLY NOT TRUE! YOU KNOW NOTHING ABOUT RATS THEY SEE IN SHADES OF GREEN AT NIGHT THE HAVE LIKE THOSE NIGHT VISION GOGGLES BUILT IN THEIR TINY TENY BRAINS!!!!!!!!!
Wow, you guys^ are funny! I have read that they can see blues and greens in the day, but a lot of sources say different things...
That's a good question. my rat is an albino and so l can only say through experience from her.
Albinos tend to have very poor eyesight but rats don't have the greatest vision to begin with so she is basically blind. l know she can see blurs and shapes but cannot recognise me until she smells or hears me first. as far as being able to see, if l hold something a few inches near her face, she sees it and grabs for it. anything further away and she doesn't notice unless it has a smell and then she gets closer to see what it is.
l'd say her vision is about 1/2 to 1/3 that of an average rat's sight but this is just a rough guess.
hope this helps, or someone else knows better.
Rats dont come in many colors. They mostly come in Grey,White,Brown, and black. It Will be very unusual if you find a rat that is a different color.
Gerbils are not colorblind, but they don't see the range of color that humans do. Most other mammals can't see reds as well as people can, if at all.
yes i think but i do know that gerbils cant see the color red
of course they're not!
No they cant see rats through there invisibility spells
yes rats can see in the dark, they are nocturnal. :) My rats are far from nocturnal. They are awake when I am awake. If I come down at 2 am they are awake, if I am around at 2p, they are awake. soooooo can rats see in the dark. Will tell you tomorrow cos now they are in the dark and I have left new toys around their cage to play with, and they haven't seen them in daylight. If they are moved tomorrow morning I guess they can see in the dark. They have an enormous cage so it can't all be by accident
Rabbits are colourblind and do not see the same colours that we do. Rats can see blues and greens but not red at all. Black eyed rats can see one third of the humans can while red eyed rats can see only one thrid of what a black eyes rat sees.
rats can jump pretty far, but I doubt that it would be able to enter your attic. Also, do you have a hole in your roof or something?
Some countries share a land border, so it is easy for the rats to just cross the border into another country. Rats also board ships and travel to countries far far away from each other.
Not very well
i think they see the world around them blurred.
well....it might be possible that rats can bite children as well as adults. because rats dont see whether it is a child or an adult.
Yes. See the Related Link.
as far as i know dogs don't eat rats but the rats might bite the dog even if the dog is sweet. the rats might intimidated by the dog and bite her.
Rats are Vermin creatures, who feed of the dead bodies of people who have died in war. Dead bodies in the trenches had to be taken far away to stop the rats coming to the trenches. All the soldiers hated the rats and used to beat them with spades for entertainment.
No, they only see cheese. That y they never see the trap
