As a girl who considers herself a normal person with normal friends, I would have to say: no, all the girls who I know of do not spy on the boys that they like.
However, if you count Facebook "stalking" (looking at the boy's pictures w/o leaving comments or likes so no one knows she has seen them or something like that) as "spying," then I would have to say that is a yes to your question! But you can't blame them because Facebook makes it considerably easy to see pictures. So who's to say guys don't do this too?!
Of course, you could have the totally obsessed girls who spy on their crushes like the media paints all girls to be...but as I said, I've never met anyone who does that.
