Most likely not. Fish only have a memory span of about 3 seconds. They also don't have many brain cells, and the only feeling they can probably feel is pain. Plus, fish like to swim :-) ---- goldfish do remember for much more than 3 seconds... some remember for up to a month. they will remember where they get feed and even colours. ive even known some fish that recognise me when i walk past. Its hard to tell if they're bored though... perhaps the best thing to do is just add some ornaments and plant to keep them amused.... and take them out for a walk occassionally :P ----
Goldfish are very playful pets. If you put a random (but safe) object into their tank, they may be a little startled at first, but after a while they will become curious about the object and start exploring what the object can do, for example: can it float? does it make a good hiding place?
Goldfish like to swim in and out of things and in the past your only choice has been things like live plants, but often they'll just eat live plants eventually. The best toy for goldfish are growing gel balls. They are also a really great aquarium ornament. These squishy gel balls flow around the tank and settle on the bottom, the fish love to swim in and out of them, burrow themselves inside of them, and even hide under them. It's like watching a kid playing in the ball pit at Chuck E. Cheese! The fish won't try to eat the balls and depending on your filter the balls shouldn't clog anything. These growing gel balls are the most fun and entertaining fish toy and aquarium ornament out there. Try it out!
No. They do however like substrate and living plants both on the surface and growing in the substrate.
Stones or gravel are decorative; goldfish do not actually need them.
yes, to much could sufficate the fish.
Yes, goldfish are very messy. Goldfish need 10 gallons per fish, you actually need a 20 gallon tank or about a 70 liter tank for 2 goldfish. But the small tank will do while they are small, you will need to eventually get a larger tank.
Either a tank or pond of at least 30 gallons is a suitable environment for a goldfish.
Regardless of the type or size of goldfish the minimum acceptable size of an aquarium for a goldfish is 30 gallons. Buy a tank that is at least 30 gallons if you plan to have goldfish. You can comfortably fit 3 goldfish in a tank this size but no goldfish in a tank any smaller. Goldfish are essentially pond fish and need lots of space to swim; they will not thrive in a small aquarium.
They prefer one.
Yes, but your tank size needs to support it. If you mean that a regular goldfish is a long single-tail goldfish, then you need at least a 40 gallon tank just for the 2 fish due to the size potential of the common goldfish. If you mean a regular goldfish as in a round bodied fantail, or perhaps a ryukin, then you need at least a 30 gallon tank for the 2 fish.
You should put in stones or sand. Also you can chuck in a live plant. xx
Goldfish just need a plain bowl and some plants
Yes, the bigger tank the better. They actually HATE goldfish bowls. (they're not nearly big enough). Goldfish usually need a 20 to 30 gallon tank
Depending on what your sick goldfish has, it will either be specific to that fish, which you should place in a separate tank to treat, or it's something that will spread to other fish in your tank, in which case you will need to treat them all.
HOPE THIS IS HELPFUL
about 10 gal per fish
Actually, I think that temperature is about right for your goldfish. But if you seriously need to, you need to change the temperature of the air around the tank. I suggest keeping it in a cooler room?
