Yes, guinea pigs can die from vitamin deficiency, especially a lack of vitamin C. Guinea pigs are unable to produce their own vitamin C and must obtain it from their diet. A lack of vitamin C can lead to scurvy, which is a serious and potentially fatal condition in guinea pigs.
Guinea pigs can't produce vitamin C on their own and must consume it. Foods such as fruits and vegetables contain a lot of vitamin C and are needed in the guinea pigs diet.
yes.all animals need nutritous food guinea pigs like humans can not produce vitamin c and need to eat it daily. some great vitamin c foods for guinea pigs are: 1.carrots 2.romane lettuce 3.celery 4.dandelion stems (cooked) 5.kale
Mostly just humans (but also guinea-pigs and fruit bats).
Yes!! They needle vitamin C. And carrots are full of vitamin C.
Guinea pigs, humans.
Oranges are the best option
No because rat food , guinea pig etc.It Doesn't supply enough Vitamin C for it because guinea pigs require a minimum of 10 mg of Vitamin C or 20 mg if pregnant
No pig food IS NOT good for guinea pigs. Guinea pigs have a very sensitive digestive system. Guinea pigs also require a different diet then regular pigs. A guinea pig is not part of the pig family. Guinea pigs need alot of vitamin c and vegetables. It is very important not to feed your Piggy any food that says it is for other animals. Make sure it says for guinea pigs specifically on the package. I have one guinea pig and he eats nothing but the best quality food. Guinea pigs mostly get there vitamin c from vegetables you feed them but they can get it from pellets that have vitamin c in them and is made just for them.
Firstly, they should not live outside permanently. Secondly, they may need protection. Talk to your vet for more answers
Well here is my opinion... Guinea Pigs can't produce their own Vitamin C, so they eat guinea pig food, and LOTS and LOTS of Timothy Hay, so they can have as much Vitamin C as they need. Some guinea pigs are wild, and live somewhere else. They don't have much defense to hunt other wild animals. Hope this helps! :)
They need vitamin C. You can buy this in the form of a small pill or liquid drops to be added to the food or water. Most guinea pig food has vitamin C in it already.
