It all depends on what kind of guy he his and what kind of girl she is. I have a friend who is really `tough` but she has a soft side too. I think guys do like girls who are tough. Girls who could protect themselves if they ever needed to, ones who can stand up for themselves. Their good traits to have and if I were a dude I wouldn`t want my girlfriend to be one of those people who freak out over a broken nail and have major, wako problems. But not all guys like that, some guys want to be seen as a `hero` in their dumb a** (excuse my language, just kind of pisses me off) girlfriends eyes.

That is actually a common stereotype. Many girls do not like tough and athletic guys. But if I had to say why, girls are generally attracted to "manly" men or someone that they believe will be able to take care of them.
