Accipiters, a genus of slender prey birds with long tails, rounded wings, and long legs is composed of approximately 50 species mostly in the Goshawk and Sparrowhawk groups. Many, like the Coopers Hawk and the Sharp-shinned Hawk ambush and eat small birds that they catch quickly using long sharp talons and then tear the meat apart with sharp hooked beaks.
