In various canyons of the white mountains I have come across a numerous amount of hickory trees. I've not yet identified the species but the trees put on an abundance of crop. I plan to harvest for the first time this fall. If there as good as they appear I will update this site.
Trees like spruce, oak, hickory, birch, beech and maple. Ivy and dogwood abound and grasses and wildflowers seem to be everywhere.
Willow trees grow near the west coast, but they do not grow within a couple hundred feet of the beach of the west coast, but they do grow in the west coast.
For the most part, evergreen trees grow on the mountain slopes of West Virginia. Other plants, wildflowers, and shrubs complete the picture.
