I'm sure that one or two would not be harmful, but they are very high in fat, and probably not real good for them. A horses diet should be no more than 10% fat, and most grain based horse feeds are in the 4% to 6% range. It would be real easy to exceed that with too many almond treats! Carrots and apples are much healthier treats. ________________________________________________________________ From Horseman's U.com: If a horse would not normally find almonds in the wild, it's unlikely his system is able to digest them. Almonds also contain oils and fats that horses do not digest well. Horses are super-vegans and are the only mammal without a gallbladder - the organ that produces bile that breaks down fats and oils. You can learn more about fats and oils from Marijke van de Water's video on "Why Horses And Oil Don't Mix" on Horseman's U.com

There is conflicting opinions on whether or not horses can or should eat nuts such as almonds (Never feed peanuts unless they are cooked as they contain a type of mold that can be fatal to horses.) I suggest contacting a equine Veterinarian or a equine nutritionist for an accurate answer.

Horses could eat them, but it's not a good idea due to their shape and the possibility of them ingesting too many of them and developing colic.
