I don't think they do because the current goes through the wire whereas on a mobile phone it is radio waves through the air.

What are the benefits of radio waves?

Some benefits of radio waves are: You can use many devices such as tv's,cell phone's and radio's without a cord, they can send signals easily to your device and they have the longest wavelength among the electromagnetic spectrum.

Why can two radio stations send signals out into the same space at the same time?

Radio waves are a type of electromagnetic radiation similar to visible light. If there were 2 light sources with different color light you would not have any problem seeing both colors. It is the same with radio waves on different wavelengths.

How do you send a message using radio waves?

To send information with a radio wave, you changesome characteristic of theradio wave, according to some pattern that the people on both ends agree on.For example ... you can turn the radio wave on and off, with long and short bursts, and long and short spaces between them. You can have a different pattern for eachletter of the alphabet, and you can spell out words and sentences with the patterns. Now, anybody who can receive your radio waves, and knows the patterns you're using, can understand what you're saying. You can call your system: "Morse Code".

What is the difference between radio waves and sound from a radio?

No, a radio wave is not a mechanical wave. A radio wave is a form of electromagnetic (EM) energy, and it does not require a medium through which to travel like a mechanical wave does. Radio waves can travel through the vacuum of space. Let's contrast that with a mechanical wave.A mechanical wave involves the transfer of mechanical energy into and through a medium. Sound waves (which travel through air) and water waves (which move through water) are mechanical waves. They cannot travel without a medium through which to move.

Why aren't radio waves used to send information to and from artificial satellites?

The question is impossible to answer, because it rests on a false hypothesis.Radio is the only possible way to pass information to and from artificial satellites.

What is the basic operation of an antenna?

It is receiving the waves from radio or television stations who send them troughout sending devices. A radio station for example will have a tower which sends these waves up to a certain distance radius.

How does the ionosphere help us?

The ionosphere has the useful property of reflecting radio waves, thereby enabling us to send radio signals past the horizon.

What causes the fluttering of radio reception when an airplane flies overhead?

okay fluttering is due to reflection/interfearence of sound waves between an aeroplane and the radio.therefore this is what happens when the radio station send the radio waves directly a radio receive the waves but fluttering occurs when an aeroplane interfearring the path of transmission where by some of the waves form radio station will hit an aeroplane and goes to a radio and also part of the wave will go direct to a radio therefore simultaneously receiving of radio form two different places is what causes fluttering!

What home appliances use electromagnetic waves?

Microwaves. They give off microwaves! Also light bulbs (visible EM), heating coils (infra-red EM), and ovens (infra-red EM). Also radios and TVs receive radio waves, garage-door openers generate and transmit radio waves, blow-driers irradiate the air passing through them with infrared (heat) waves, smart and dumb cellphones all send and receive radio waves, laptops on wireless home wi-fi send and receive radio waves, and their screens generate and radiate visible light waves which make it a lot easier for us to see what they're computing.

How do cordless phones receive signals?

Cordless phones use radio frequencies to send the messages from a base, which is attached to the phone line, through the air to the cordless handset. Newer cordless phones receive their signals digitally.
